Command overview lists all the LCR-800
commands and command queries. The command
syntax section shows you the basic rules you have
to apply when using commands.
Command Syntax
Command
Background
There are a number of different instrument
commands and queries. A command sends
instructions or data to the LCR meter and a query
receives data or status information from the LCR
meter. Measurements are automatically sent when
a measurement is made in manual or automatic
mode.
Command Types
Command
Two or more commands
separated by a colon (:)
with/without a parameter
Example
MEMO:STOR 100.<^END^M>
Query
A query is a compound
command followed by a question
mark (?). A parameter (data) is
returned.
Example
SORT:NOMV?<^END^M>
Measurement
Returns measurement data. Can
be manually or automatically
updated.

Commands and queries can be written in either
ASCII or hexadecimal.
Below are examples of ASCII and hexadecimal
